Reflection

The fundamental concern underlying all three of today’s readings is how we live our lives. Do we behave with carelessness and abandon? Are we lost in forgetfulness? Do we live as if the end will not come? Or are we awake, living each moment with love and intention?

Each moment of each day is the eschatological moment, a moment that is pregnant with the possibility of awakening. May we live each moment today in mindfulness, showering kindness and compassion upon those we meet along our way.

Prayer

Enlivening Spirit, be present to me and through me today. Help me ground my life in love, and grant me the gift of attending to the absolute uniqueness and preciousness of each moment. I pray this as a beloved member of the community that is the Living Christ. Amen.
