Happy New Year, dear readers! I hope that you all have a lovely and loving 2025.
I wanted to write and give you all a preview of what is coming in January. Relieved of the pace of writing a daily offering for Advent, I will be publishing a mixture of content for both my free and paid subscribers.
The free content will be similar in length to the Advent meditations. I will start by offering a short series on the concept of awareness, including the science behind it and how it differs from thinking. Later in the month, I will offer a set of reflections on mindful resistance during times of injustice and oppression. This topic is extremely important, as the incoming Trump-Vance Administration has openly expressed views that are hostile to the rule of law and other institutions that underpin our democracy.
To thank my paid subscribers for supporting my work, I will be publishing content reserved especially for them, including a longer thought piece that provides a possible explanation for how the US elected Donald Trump. I will follow that with a series on the promise and perils of artificial intelligence, exploring why the AI movement should interest spiritual communities and providing a basic understanding of what every citizens should know about the technology. I’ll close out the month with an essay on the joy of visiting museums.
I’m excited to offer content that I hope provides insight and speaks to some of the needs of our current time and culture. If you have topics that you are interested in hearing about, please drop me a line.
As always, thank you for reading The Suture!
